Man Arrested After He Stabbed His Brother to Death Due to Game Trash Talk

Young man arrested after he stabbed his older brother to death as they taunted and trash talk to each other that lead to serious fight.

According to the report of GMA Regional TV “Balitang Amianan” on Wednesday, the victim and his younger brother quarreled due to online game. However, the siblings quarrel leads to death.

Eight stab wounds ended the life of a former OFW in Villasis, Pangasinan. The victim was identified as Michael Verzola, 34. The culprit, his own younger brother, whom he quarreled with after the online game.

The suspect, Johnny Verzola, was arrested. According to Johnny, he is deeply regretting what he had done to his older brother. It is said that the tragedy happened to the family even on the day of their father’s birthday celebration.

According to Police Major Christian Alucod, chief of the Villasis Police Station, the siblings had an argument that led to the death of the victim. Based on the report, there was a misunderstanding until it reached the point where the victim challenged the suspect to kill each other.

The victim was allegedly holding a bolo while the suspect took a knife. The suspect, on the other hand, regrets what he did because of their drunkenness. Their relatives did not give a statement.
