What did Toni Gonzaga do to her talent fee?
ABS-CBN Films Managing Director Olivia Lamasan has this revelation about the talent fee of actress-host Toni Gonzaga.
During the birthday surprise for Toni on her online talk show I Feel U, she received messages from her family. Melai Cantiveros served as the host for that episode.
Aside from her parents, sister, husband, and son, Toni also received a message from Direk Olive, based on the article from Bandera.
“Nu’ng una ka naming pinakiusapan gawin ang programang ito (I Feel U), sabi namin kung puwede tanggapin mo ito sa starting rate namin. Hindi kami nagdalawang salita,” she said.
Toni Gonzaga accepted the project as she believes the purpose of the project, and it is to maintain their presence and serve the Filipino audience, the managing director added.
Then, Direk revealed that the actress-host gave a “generous portion” of her talent fee to the retrenched employees of ABS-CBN due to its denied franchise.
“I will never forget that kasi napaiyak mo ako noon sa sobrang kalakihan ng puso mo at kabutihan mo. I pray that God returns your generosity a thousand fold and that blessings may continue to abound you in all aspects of your life,” Direk Olive said.
After this, Toni Gonzaga shared that even before the pandemic, she already wrote on her planner what she wants to do for her 20th anniversary in showbiz.
“Sabi ko my dream is to have my own show where I can talk to people and I can interview them. Sinulat ko yun tapos nagsara yung ABS so naisip ko parang hindi na mangyayari yung dream ko na iyon,” the actress-host said.
Fortunately, her wish came true when Direk Olive called her and told her about a hosting project amid the pandemic.
