International pop star Selena Gomez was born to a half Italian mother and Mexican American father. At 7, she got a role in the children’s tv series “Barney and Friends.”
Selena became popular when she played the character of Alex Russo in Disney’s sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place.” She trended in the Philippines last year when she reposted Barbie Forteza’s “Ice Cream” dance cover.
HBO Max recently released the trailer of Selena Gomez’s cooking show “Selena + Chef.” The trailer shows the singer cooking Filipino dish Adobo with the Fil-Am celebrity chef Jordan Andino.

On Friday, Selena Gomez released her new Spanish-language single “De Una Vez” (At One” in English). The single comes one year after she released her last album “Rare.”
“This is the beginning of something I’ve wanted to explore for so long. I hope you love it as much as I do,” she wrote on Twitter following the song’s release.
In a statement, the 28-year-old superstar described her new song as “such a beautiful love anthem,” adding, “I am incredibly proud of my Latin background. It felt empowering to sing in Spanish again.”
