Pinay Actress Nova Villa Receives Papal Award
The popular Filipina actress Nova Villa received the highest award given by the Pope to lay people or known as the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal.
On Friday (January 15, 2021), the Veritas846 reported that the Pinay actress Villa, Novelita V. Gallegos in real life received the Papal award on Thursday (January 14). The award-giving ceremony has been held at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Quezon City.
Villa said on her interview with Radio Veritas that her mission was to be a celebrity and it has been fulfilled. She worked in the showbiz industry for over five decades and gets surprised after receiving the recognition.
The 73-year-old celebrity encouraged the Filipino people to be a good servant of the Lord and to everything for God. Villa has been nominated by Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Antonio Tobias for the Papal award.
“Bukal sa puso ko ‘yung anything na ginagawa ko for God. I’m happy to do it kahit mahirap, I think, I am just an instrument of God’s grace to people. By being nice to people, giving smile at them, you’re giving them hope,” Villa said.

National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab and comedy queen Ai Ai delas alas have also received the papal award aside from Villa.
