A lot of people believe that the retired priest got the virus from a social gathering he attended. Other retired priests of the Archdiocese of Palo in Leyte remained at the archdiocese’s Clergy House before Pesado’s death.

“The entire Archdiocese of Palo mourns his death. This sends a strong message to all the faithful that even priests, who strictly follow all the basic health protocols, could still acquire the deadly virus,” the archdiocese spokesperson Fr. Chris Arthur Militante said.
