DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is not anymore planning to be among the firsts who will receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

In the Philippines, there is now a total of 492,700 cases of COVID-19 recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) including 9,699 deaths and 458,523 recoveries.

The wearing of a face mask when going outdoors and as well as the practice of social distancing are part of the protocols. Meanwhile, there is now a ray of light as COVID-19 vaccines have been developed.

With regards to the COVID-19 vaccine, the Philippines is one of the countries planning to make a purchase. Recently, the President spoke about the order of priorities on the administration of the vaccine.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is not anymore planning to be among the firsts to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. He stressed that the healthcare workers are the first priority on the list.

The President said that also among the order of priorities are the teachers, the social workers and the government workers; the essential workers outside health, education, social welfare; the socio-demographic groups; the overseas Filipino workers; all the remaining workers; and then all the remaining citizens.

“Mga sundalo natin, kasama kayo sa mga priority. Pero mauna talaga ‘yung mga pobre, ‘yung wala talaga, tapos kayo,” he said.
