US Records Two Deaths Per Minute Due To Coronavirus On Average This 2021

US RECORDS TWO DEATHS PER MINUTE – The coronavirus had hit the United States the hardest in 2020. Unfortunately, this remained coming into 2021.

In the first week of the new year, 19,418 people have succumbed to the deadly disease. As such, data from the COVID Tracking Project, experts revealed that on average, two people have died due to the virus per minute in the U.S.

But, if you thought that a death every 30 seconds is bad, medical experts and scientists believe it could potentially get worse. Currently, the U.S. has reported 365,597 deaths related to the coronavirus. However, despite this large number, the virus is still prevalent at a lethal and alarming rate.

Previously, President Donald Trump downplayed the severity of the disease. For many, this led to the deaths of thousands of Americans. Meanwhile, Trump, for the longest time, refused to wear masks and compared the virus to a regular flu.

But, with Biden set to take the reigns, he promised to prioritize the virus. According to an article from Unilad, President-elect Joe Biden noted how the US was leagues behind other nations in their COVID-19 response.

Moreover, Biden already planned a roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccines and an emphasis on hygiene practices and health protocols. Additionally, restrictions and additional safety protocols would be imposed on domestic travels between states.

Still, it is unclear whether the United States had tested for the new virus strain from the U.K. The new strain is more transmissible than the previous ones causing major concerns if it spreads in the U.S.
