Malacañang Warned Illegally Distributing Unauthorized COVID-19 Vaccines Be Imprisoned
Malacañang Palace warns that individuals caught selling or distributing unauthorized coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines could be detained.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said on the press briefing that punishments will be served immediately if a certain individual will be caught selling and illegally distributing unlicensed and not approved vaccines for the virus.
“They cannot sell if they do not have the license. If they sell, there is punishment. I think that is very clear,” Roque said.
“No one can sell and commercially distribute without a license from the FDA. May kulong po iyan (There will be jail term),” Roque added.

Roque made the statement following an investigation into the country’s immunized vaccine. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has so far focused on those who are spreading and smuggling vaccines in the country not yet approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
It is recalled that some members Presidential Security Guard (PSG), members of President Rodrigo Duterte’s cabinet, and some members of the army have been vaccinated.
PSG also recently admitted that its members have been vaccinated for the safety of the President. Roque also said that leave the investigations against unauthorized vaccines to NBI.
“Pabayaan po nating mag-imbestiga ang NBI dahil iyan po ay ang kanilang katungkulan (Let the NBI investigate it because that’s part of its job),” Roque said. “There is an investigative agency; let the investigation proceed.”
