Investigation showed that Dejos and the conductor, Ameline “Amy” Sembrana, were former live-in partners and they had three children. BFP-QC operations chief Fire Chief Inspector Joseph del Mundo said the two had an argument inside the bus allegedly due to the conductor’s new partner.

The bus was on Pearl Drive Corner Commonwealth Avenue when the accident happened on Jan. 3. Based on the report, some passengers were able to escape as they break the windows to get out of the burning vehicle.

Escaped passengers revealed that the conductor and the passenger got into an argument. The passenger then doused the conductor, Amy, with gasoline and lit a fire.

Dejos and Sembrana were both discovered burned and dead as the fire has caught the entire bus. The driver of the bus had also run out of the burning vehicle as his arm caught while he was picking up the extinguisher.

Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said it would conduct its own investigation into the incident. Del Mundo said no one has yet claimed the remains of Dejos at Rizalde Funeral Services in Barangay Payatas in Quezon City.

Dejos’ relatives are said to be in Cebu. His twin brother, who is also said to be the conductor’s ex-husband, has passed away.

Sembrana left nine children, including one-year-old twins, according to his father Orlando. There is no other way but to accept Sembrana’s death because the suspect died with her, Orlando said.
