Former Barber Who Become Licensed Doctor Inspired Many People Online

Inspiring story of a former barber who recently become a official licensed doctor goes viral on social media and earned various reactions.

Dr. Jess Dexisne has inspired many people online as he shares his story of hardship to achieve his dreams. Dexisne experienced a lot of hardship yet his motto in life has always been, “Quitting is not an option!”

Dexisne was raised in a poor family. Due to poverty, his parents could not afford to send him to school. He dreamt to complete his studies and become an official doctor.

His motivation to become a doctor is to help poor fellow countrymen like them and to provide a better life for his family. To finish his study, he became a barber to support himself in high school.

Although it is not a high-paid job it helped him continue his study. However, due to financial problems and because the job doesn’t really pay a lot, there were a lot of times when he had to quit school. 

But the circumstances never make him feel discouraged, instead, he strived and work harder to achieve his goal. After high school, he was able to proceed on BS Nursing.

He continued to work harder until he graduated from medical school. He revealed that there are times when he got sick because of exhaustion, but he did quit.

Former Barber Doctor

Quitting was never an option for him. And last October 2020, he was finally able to reach his dreams as was among the passers of the Physician Licensure Examinations. He is now a licensed doctor.

VP Leni Robredo shared in a Facebook post the story of Dr. Jess Dexisne. She praises the diligence and perseverance of Dexisne in reaching his dreams.
