2 Members of Syndicate Distributing Fake Cigarettes in Bulacan Arrested
Syndicate members who distribute fake cigarettes in the province Bulacan arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by the police.
In a report from P / Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan provincial director, the arrested suspects were identified as Bernard Allen Contrillas, a resident of Brgy. Mojon; and Joshua Alcoriza, a resident of Brgy. Sumapang Matanda, in the city of Malolos.
Based on the article of Hataw Tabloid, it was learned that the personnel of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) in Brgy. San Vicente, in the said city, was informed that some certain individuals were distributing counterfeit cigarettes in the area.

As a result, they conducted an entrapment operation and one of the policemen pretended to be a buyer. When they found counterfeit cigarettes and money, the two suspects were immediately arrested.
25 reams of counterfeit Marlboro red cigarettes or a total of 250 packages, P27,000, buy bust money, and a Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle used in illegal activities were confiscated from the suspects.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) last year, has retrieved billion worth of smuggled cigarettes from unknown sources. Unpopular brands and fake cigarettes using international brand names were halted and confiscated.
