Pope Slams COVID-19 Vacationers Travelling To Skip Lockdown
POPE FRANCIS SLAMS COVID-19 VACATIONERS – Usually, Pope Francis holds a calm and understanding demeanor. However, he recently scolded vacationers who sought to avoid health lockdowns by traveling amid the pandemic.
On Sunday, the Pope said he was saddened by reports claiming people were traveling abroad to go on vacation amid the pandemic. According to an article from CNN, the Pontiff said:
They are good people, but they didn’t think about those who were staying at home, of the economic problems of many people who have been hit hard by the lockdown, of the sick people
Furthermore, the Pope scolded the vacationers and said they only thought about having fun on the holidays. “This pained me a lot”, he added.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several countries are still under strict lockdowns, especially because of the new virus strain. Currently, COVID-19 has infected more than 84 million people based on figures from Johns Hopkins University.
Meanwhile, Pope Francis still had hope for the 2021. As per the article, the pope stated:

Last year, the Pope also criticized those who refused to wear masks amid the COVID-19 pandemic and said they had “their own little world of interests”. This year, the Pontiff hoped for a vaccine for all and pleaded with the nations to cooperate with health protocols.
