Claudine Barretto finally speaks about the Meralco issue
Optimum Star Claudine Barretto broke her silence on the “naputulan ng kuryente” issue as what has circulated days ago.
This issue first came to the knowledge of the public when the lawyer of the actress, Atty. Ferdie Topacio, mentioned this on a talk show. The lawyer said that this happened before December 25 when he went to the house of Claudine.
However, as Meralco released a statement that there will be disconnection that will happen until the end of December, speculations surfaced that the Optimum Star just did this to earn the sympathy of the public as she filed a case against her ex-husband Raymart Santiago regarding his financial support.
In line with this issue, Claudine Barretto has finally spoken and clarified this based on the article from PEP. She said that there was just a misunderstanding between her and Atty. Topacio.
The actress shared their conversation was just abrupt and that she was not able to explain clearly what really happened. Claudine said that they are the one who turned off their electrical supply.
“Hindi kami naputulan, pero nabahaan kami nung Ulysses. Yung buong retaining wall namin, natumba. So, umabot hanggang sa pool, umabot medyo sa first floor ng house namin,” she shared.
They had to stay at the hotel and then at her mother’s house for a few days because of this. Claudine explained that when her lawyer went to her house there was no one there and that the lights were turned off.
“So what happened was, pagdaan ni Atty. Topacio, walang ilaw, walang tao, security guard lang. So, ang ibang bahay, may ilaw. So ang akala niya, naputulan. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Wala kaming kuryente, wala kami diyan sa bahay.'” she said.
Claudine Barretto also stressed that they never experienced brownout because they have a huge generator as like what is being used in shootings.
“Not for anything, never kami nakatikim ng brownout dahil may generator kami. Automatic na kapag namatay yung power sa village, kami lang halos ang meron,” the Optimum Star said.
