Many Consumers Fail to Observe Safety Protocols in Novaliches Market Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Several consumers have failed to observe the quarantine guidelines and health protocols at Novaliches Market in Quezon City.

A lot of Filipino consumers trooped to the Novaliches Market in Quezon City but failed to observe the safety protocols including proper wearing of face masks, face shield, and physical distancing measures.

Many vendors are selling their products along the sidewalk outside of the market. Most of them are not following the quarantine policy at the market, which could spread the coronavirus disease.

Some residents are not wearing their face shield and some of them are not properly wearing their face masks. Children could be also seen outside the market although the local government unit is implementing a curfew policy.

Meanwhile, the prices of basic commodities and food products in the market remain high. Here is the list of prices:

The prices of pork products remains at P280-P310 per kilo, chicken meat at P135 per kilo, bangus P170-P190 kilo, and tilapia at P100-110 per kilo.
