Pres. Duterte May Announce the January 2021 Community Quarantine Measures Today
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte may announce new measures of quarantine in the country today for January 2021.
It’s holiday season now but the COVID-19 pandemic has yet to end thus the authorities keep on reminding the people to be extra careful. This pandemic has shaken several healthcare systems across the globe.
Philippines is one of the countries that confirmed cases of COVID-19. As of this writing, a total of 469,886 cases of coronavirus including 9,109 deaths and 438,678 recoveries were recorded by the Department of Health (DOH).
The entire country is still under community quarantine measures now. Metro Manila and several other cities with high cases of COVID-19 are under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

Despite the holiday vibe, minors in Metro Manila are not allowed to shop in malls as decided by the mayors of the different cities in the Metro. The said measure is up this December.
However, while the current pandemic is not yet done, another strain of coronavirus was detected in U.K. Several other countries also confirmed cases of the mutated strain of coronavirus.
Philippines joined the countries that immediately banned travelers from U.K. following the confirmation of a mutated strain of coronavirus. Undeniably, this new strain has sparked alarm to many people.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte may announce the new quarantine measures today, Monday, after the meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque sent a text message to ABS-CBN confirming the huge possibility of the declaration of new community quarantine measures for January 2021 by Pres. Duterte.
