Disney Reportedly Removed Depp From Jack Sparrow Role

Following Warner Bros, Disney Now Reportedly Removed Depp From PotC Series

DISNEY REPORTEDLY REMOVED DEPP – According to insider reports, Johnny Depp is reportedly blocked from reprising his role as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

If the reports hold true, this would become the second time Depp was forced out of a major role from a popular series. Previously, Warner Bros. asked Depp to step down from his role as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beast series after losing the “wife beater” case against a UK tabloid.

Disney Reportedly Removed Depp From Jack Sparrow Role

This report came after the Hollywood Reporter published a claim that the media powerhouse, Disney, “balked”. The paragraph stated:

Disney had already backed away from aΒ PiratesΒ future with Depp well before the U.K. trial, even if it never formally severed ties. Bruckheimer, who has been one of Depp’s biggest champions and once suggested the finger injury happened because β€œhe got it caught in a car door,” was hoping to at least bring the Captain Jack Sparrow character back briefly in the next outing β€” said to be a female-centric incarnation fronted by Margot Robbie. Disney balked.

Meanwhile, Depp had previously said that the finger injury mentioned was a result of his ex-wife, Amber Heard, throwing a glass bottle at him. However, there were also sources claiming Depp had the injury after taking eight ecstasy pills on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Furthermore, THR claimed the actor was a “liability” and that his lawsuit defeat against UK Tabloid, The Sun, was enough to drive-out any studio from giving him another major role.

Additionally, another source from the THR called Depp “radioactive” and that he had been extremely difficult to work with. However, while Depp has had trouble with his career in the film industry, Fashion house Dior stood by his side.
