Johnny Depp Releases Statement Following Lost Case, Dropped From Franchise
JOHNNY DEPP RELEASES STATEMENT – Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp released a statement losing the “wife beater” case in the U.K.
Depp and ex-wife, Amber Heard’s relationship had always been causing controversy. According to Heard, Johnny Depp was an abusive Husband. However, several videos, audio recordings, and testimonies from family, friends, and even Depp’s wives say otherwise.
Meanwhile, The Sun, a UK-based newspaper, pushed Heard’s narrative in their papers. Furthermore, it immediately tagged Depp as a “wife-beater”, leading to the case being filed.
For everybody looking at the case, it was a sure win for Depp with every evidence stacked against “The Sun”. However, the UK supreme court declared the tabloid not guilty of the crimes Depp sued them for.
Ultimately, this led to Warmer Bros. Dropping Depp from his role as “Grindevald” in Fantastic Beasts. Following this, Depp released a quick statement on his social media accounts:
Firstly, I would like to thank everybody who has gifted me with their support and loyalty.
I have been humbled and moved by your many messages of love and concern, particularly over the last few days.
Secondly, I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request.
Finally, I wish to say this.
The surreal judgment of the court in the U.K. will not change my fight to tell the truth, and I confirm that I plan to appeal.
My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time.
