Lapu-Lapu City Hall Employees to Receive Christmas Bonus, Incentives, Rice and Ham

Lapu-Lapu City Hall employees would receive their Christmas bonus over 13 COVID-19 free days, which is equivalent to a month’s salary.

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan announced that the city’s government employees would receive their Christmas bonus. He made the announcement of Friday afternoon (December 11, 2020).

The City Council approved Chan’s proposal for supplemental budget for the bonuses of the government employees. The good news would surely make the city hall employees especially during this Christmas season.

Chan’s announcement is contrary to his December 3 statement saying that the government employees would not receive their Christmas bonuses. He explained that the funds will be used for the health care of the residents amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Eventually, the city Mayor announced that city hall employees would receive bonus and P5,000 performance enhancement incentives. Aside from cash incentives, they would also receive rice and ham.

Chan announced the good news after the city had been COVID-19 free for 13 days. “We had no new cases of COVID-19 yesterday (December 10) and this has been going on for the past 13 days,” Chan said
