Here’s the rank of the Philippines when it comes to beauty pageant ranking

In the international beauty pageant ranking, the Philippines got this place in the most number of crowns.

Indeed, Pinoys are huge fans of beauty pageants, from the local competitions in barrios until to the international stage. This kind of event has become part of the modern culture of Filipinos.

For several years, the representative of the Philippines had ended well in the international pageants. Based on the article from Philstar Life, Pinay beauty queens were able to place the country on the second spot in most number of crowns when it comes to international competitions.

This ranking is based on the analysis made by Statista that is specifically looking into the pageantry’s “Big Four”. The main beauty pageants are Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth.

The study that the German research firm conducted noted that Miss Universe (organized by the US) and Miss World (organized by the UK) are the longest-running beauty contests. That is why these pageants are already under the prestigious category.

However, the research stated that over the years, “both countries have favored their homegrown beauty queens to some extent.”

The Philippines has four Miss Universe crowns – Gloria Diaz (1969), Margarita Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018). In the Miss International pageant, the country has the most number of winners – Gemma Cruz (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979), Lara Quigaman (2005), Bea Santiago (2013), and Kylie Verzosa (2016).

Megan Young, on the other hand, is the only one who was crowned Miss World. For the Miss Earth pageant, Karla Henry (2008), Jamie Herrell (2014), Angelia Ong (2015), and Karen Ibasco (2017) were crowned.
