Allan K was tested positive for COVID-19
On the December 12 episode of Eat Bulaga‘s Bawal Judgmental, comedian-host Allan K revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19.
Many avid viewers of the longest-running noontime show were surprised that Allan was one of the choices in the said popular segment. The segment featured the people who contracted the virus.
When it was time for the comedian to tell his story, he said that he thought what he was feeling was a simple flu. He monitored his temperature that reached 38 degrees Celsius and drank medicine with the hope that he will be better afterward.
The next day, his sickness worsened but he kept on drinking medicine. He even joked that the medicines that he was drinking felt like “ulam” already.
Then, he, later on, realized that when the time that he lost his sense of taste and sense of smell was the start. “Hindi ako pwedeng magka-COVID,” he said to himself because he was extra careful when it comes to his health.
At first, Allan K admitted that he was in denial. It is because their youngest brother died earlier this year. Two months after that, his sister died. The comedian is still grieving and at this point of his story-telling, he was already crying.
“Namatay silang pareho na nasa pandemic tayo sinunog sila na hindi ko nakita,” Allan shared. These painful deaths in his family came along with the shutting down of his two comedy bars due to the pandemic.
What added to his worry was the fact that he is diabetic and is already getting old as studies stated that in these situations, COVID-19 patients are more vulnerable.
Fortunately, even though his case was severe, he was never intubated. After 1 week, Allan shared that Bossing Vic Sotto texted him and asked “kumusta ka na bading”. “Virus lang siya, bakla ako,” he answered.
Allan K also shared that while fighting against the virus, he held on to his faith. He also thanked those who helped him in this battle.
