The Winx Saga, Netflix’ Live-Action Winx Club Adaptation Set For January 2021

THE WINX SAGA NETFLIX – A live adaptation of the classic “Winx Club” cartoon series is set to air on Netflix starting January 22, 2021.

Recently, the streaming platform dropped a teaser for the live-action remake titled, “Fate: The Winx Saga”. This would be a six-part series that narrates the coming-of-age adventure of five fairies attending Alfea, a mystical and magical school located in the Otherworld.

Much like in the cartoon, the lead characters need to face certain challenges such as learning to control their magic, monsters, school work, rivalries, and love. Meanwhile, in terms of the content, executive producer Iginio Straffi called the new adaptation “edgier and darker than what the fans can imagine”.

According to an article from Cosmopolitan, the producer said: “We are extremely proud to bring this iconic set of strong female characters to life“. Furthermore, he added that the series would be a “wildly entertaining and addictive genre“.

Starring as Bloom, the show’s main protagonist, we have Abigail Cowen who also played Dorcas in Netflix’ “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”. Alongside her is newcomer Hannah Van Der Westhusyeas who plays as Stella.
