Tourist Police Traditional Clothes ‘Bahag’ Becomes an Attraction in Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY – Tourist police roaming the city wearing traditional clothes called ‘bahag’ becomes an attraction and goes viral online.

Baguio City is one of the tourist destinations in the country. At the ease of community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the city, the local government now allowed tourists to visit famous tourist spots.

But recently, cops there have also become one of the reasons why you need to visit the place. Aside from tourist’s spots, cops also become one of the attractions in the place.

In a Facebook post of Alpha Bravo Apparel, tourist cops manning an area in Baguio City was captured wearing the Cordillera’s traditional clothes. The cops are wearing g-strings and traditional Cordillera tapis (indigenous skirts), or “bahag.”

Also, because coronavirus is still on drag and health protocols must always be observed, the captured cops are also wearing face masks and face shields as protection from the virus infection.

Meanwhile, tourists can also experience wearing traditional Cordillera clothing. There are tourist spots in Baguio the offers “bahag” rent to the tourist and let them wear it for a day.
