Woman Using Fake Peso Bills For Shopping Nabbed In Lopez, Quezon

FAKE PESO BILLS – A woman was arrested in the municipality of Lopez in Quezon after she used fake peso bills for purchasing meat.

The Quezon police information office said on Wednesday that the suspect, identified as Asmia Kamad, aged 23, and a resident of Taguig City, was arrested for paying a fake P1,000 bill to meat vendor Hector Sevilla, according to a report from Inquirer.

The transaction took place at about 11:10 AM. The suspect returned to the market an hour later and brought more meat from Sevilla using another P1,000 fake bill.

Sensing that the money was fake, the victim called for police assistance which resulted in the arrest of Kamad.

Recovered from Kamad were two more fake P1,000 bills. She is currently detained at the local police jail and is currently facing charges of forgery and illegal possession of bank and treasury notes, based on the report.

In another news regarding fake stuff, two men were arrested after they were found to have sold fake Canadian gold bars in Banga, South Cotabato.

The suspects were about to sell the fake bars for P100,000, with one of suspects claiming that the gold bars were sent to them without realizing that they were fake.
