Philippines Likely To Get Pfizer Vaccine Between Q2 to Q3 Next Year

PHILIPPINES PFIZER VACCINE PROCUREMENT – According to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., the country is likely to get Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine around the second or third quarter of 2021.

Earlier, Galvez stated that the Philippines is likely to procure China’s Sinovac vaccine first. Furthermore, he said that the country is expected to get China’s COVID-19 vaccine candidates in the first quarter of 2021.

Meanwhile, during an interview with ABS-CBN, Galvez acknowledged that the reason why the Philippines was late was due to richer countries getting first dibs on the vaccine for Q1. As such, he said that what’s left for countries such as the Philippines are the vaccines available in Q2 or Q3.

Currently, the UK has already rolled out Pfizer and BioNTech’ vaccine to the public. Yesterday, a 90-Year-Old grandma became the first person to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Moreover, the nurse that delivered the vaccine was a Filipina.
