PWD Siblings Lost Scholarship from Pacquiao’s Foundation, Seeks Ben Tulfo’s Help

Ben Tulfo Help PWD Siblings Who Lost Scholarship from Pacquiao’s Foundation

PWD siblings asked for Ben Tulfo’s help after their scholarship from Manny Pacquiao’s foundation was allegedly withdrawn.

Two PWD scholars of the Emmanuel and Jinkee Heart Foundation approached Ben Tulfo’s Bitag program due to the loss of their scholarship. Andres, 26, and Angeline Dialane, 22, both have polio and are currently in 4th-year college and studying at Cronasia Foundation College, General Santos City.

They sought help from Ben Tulfo’s program ‘Bitag’ to take action on their school debt.  According to Andres, they were in their first year of college in 2017 when they applied for a scholarship from the foundation.

However, in February 2018, after a semester their names disappeared from the scholarship list. The only reason given to them by the founder was that they had renewed their permit and the administration was also new.

The two still continued their studies. Because the school also felt sorry for them, they were allowed to make promissory notes. But after four years, their debt reached almost P100,000.

The two feared that they may not be able to graduate from the Bachelor of Science in Social Work course. According to Ben, the two are consistent honor students from elementary to high school so they can’t think of any valid reasons why they lost their scholarship from the foundation.

The siblings also have a hard life because their mother is still suffering from bone cancer and their father who is a construction worker can’t finance all their expenses.

Apart from the tuition debt, they have not been able to pay their house rent for four months. They can only afford daily food because of Andrew’s earnings for being a tutor.

Their complaint has reached Sen. Manny and a few days later, the Emmanuel and Jinkee Heart Foundation issued an update. They said that the siblings just passed their requirements.

They promised to give P50,000 which will go straight to the school. Pacquiao’s office will also provide additional educational assistance from Manny Pacquiao himself and the DSWD. Two party-list groups also offered to help the siblings.

Meanwhile, Ben Tulfo clarified that asking for help from the two is not to tarnish the name of Sen. Pacquiao. This is to provide public service to those in need.
