Amid the pandemic, these are the new normal “pasyalans” that local and foreign tourists can explore in Antique.

As traveling is now allowed in many areas in the Philippines, the tourism industry is somehow going back to normal. There were several popular tourist destinations in the country that already returned to operation. However, certain protocols are still being implemented to ensure the health safety of everyone.

For exploring the province of Antique, a segment from the Kapuso morning show, Unang Hirit, titled Touristar suggested these three new normal “pasyalans” that visitors can enjoy.

First, is the Patadyong weaving in the town of Bugasong. Natives are still doing this traditional way of making the fabric with vibrant colors. Nowadays, “patadyong” is not just a piece of cloth but it is also being used for bags, handkerchiefs, and stylish and fashionable pieces of clothing.

Then, segment host Kevin Zulueta introduced the native chicken adobo cuisine as part of the explore Antique escapade. He visited Floring’s Carendiria to try this famous food. This dish from the said province got a thumbs up from the segment host.

Following the food trip, tourists can try going to San Jose de Buenavista. It is considered the business and trading capital of Antique. This is where tourists can buy various goods at affordable prices.

There are so many more things to explore in this province in the Visayas region as these are just some of the suggestions. Antique, where the mountains meet the sea, as they say, can also cater to those who are nature lovers.
