Pinoy Big Brother: 9th Season Was Not Part of ABS-CBN’s Plan in 2020

9th Season of Pinoy Big Brother was not planned for this year

Direk Lauren Dyogi revealed that Pinoy Big Brother Connect, the 9th season of the Kapamilya reality show was not part of the plan of ABS-CBN for 2020.

For several years, PBB has opened new doors in showbiz for contestants around the country and Pinoys from other parts of the globe. This has become a stepping stone of many showbiz aspirants.

Several winners of PBB made it big in showbiz and still continue to reap the fruits of their success as talents of ABS-CBN. Just recently, the Kapamilya network launched the PBB Connect for its 9th season, and many fans got excited about this.

However, Direk Lauren said that they were not planning this to happen this year, based on the article from Pilipino Star Ngayon. “Wala po talaga ito sa plano namin this year,” he said.

He also mentioned that this is a pleasant surprise amid what is happening right now. For the director, it seemed that people are looking for something familiar and they want to go back to that familiar experience.

“Having that opportunity to bring back PBB at this particular time, makasama ko ulit sina Bianca, sina Toni, ang ating mga housemate parang ang sarap sa puso ng pakiramdam. Exciting na babalik ang PBB this year. It’s something that we can look forward to,” Direk Lauren added.

Because of this, amid the pandemic, Pinoy Big Brother is set to offer a “teleserye ng totoong buhay” of 14 housemates. For the 9th season of PBB, there will be also 9 hosts. Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzalez will be back with former housemates Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, Richard Juan, Edward Barber, Maymay Entrata, Melai Cantiveros, and Enchong Dee.
