Minors Will Be Permitted To Shop in Malls in Areas Under GCQ
MINORS – Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano said that those who are not in legal age will be allowed to shop in malls in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) under a condition.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a lot of changes in the Philippines. Now, everyone has to wear a mask and practice social distancing when going outdoors.
The delivery of lessons in schools now are under a blended learning scheme and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are going home must abide by the quarantine protocols.
The entire Philippines is still under community quarantine measures now. The different measures got different mandates or protocols including those who are allowed to go out.

Recently, an update for the areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Ano said that minors in GCQ areas will be allowed to shop in malls under a condition – they must be with their parents.
It is holiday season now and Filipinos are undeniably into shopping for gifts to their loved ones and foods to prepare. Meanwhile, the authorities continue to remind the public that COVID-19 does not observe holiday so everyone must be extra careful.
Based on the report, the DILG Secretary said that the plan to allow the minors to shop in malls in GCQ areas will be pushed through via an ordinance by the NCR mayors. However, Christmas parties and carolings will still not be allowed. Mass gathering is greatly prohibited amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Katulad po ng sinabi ni (Health) Sec. Duque, immediate family na lang ang mag-celebrate ng Christmas together,” he expressed.
