Cainta Mayor Give Away P300k Instead of Celebrating Annual Fiesta Amid Pandemic
Instead of celebrating the annual fiesta of Cainta amid the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor decided to give away P300,000 to residents.
On Facebook, Cainta Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto brought cheer to his town despite the cancellation of their annual fiesta due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Because of the pandemic, many festivities have been canceled; among those are the popular town fiestas.
However, In Cainta, Rizal, residents could still feel the celebration of their fiesta and have something to look forward to. This because the beloved town mayor announce that he will be giving away P1,000 to 300 lucky residents.

According to his post, he allotted P300,000 to 300 residents with will be randomly picked from the comments of his Facebook page. The giveaway starts on November 30 until December 1, the two feast days to honor their patron saints, Saint Andrew the Apostle and the Our Lady of Light.
The Mayor dubbed the initiative as “Cash Serye,” which is the latest among the series of giveaways from the local government. Mayor Nieto also earlier launched the “Siomai Serye,” “Pizza serye,” and “Chicken Wings Serye” with several lucky netizens getting the free food delivered to their doorstep.
