Pinoy Metal Band Slapshock Frontman Jamir Garcia Passes Away at 42
JAMIR GARCIA – The Filipino heavy metal band Slapshock Frontman Jamir Garcia trends online after he reportedly passes away at the age of 42.
Slapshock is one of the most popular bands in the Philippines and even obtained popularity abroad because of their eargasmic music. The group was formed in 1997 as a Nu metal band but eventually shift to metalcore style.
The rock group has members Jamir Garcia (Lead vocals), Lee Nadela (Bass guitar), Lean Ansing (Lead guitar), Chi Evora (Drums), and Jerry Basco (Rhythm guitar, backup vocals). The band has received numerous awards and nominations from various award giving bodies.
The band popularized the song “Agent Orange,” “Sigaw,” “Misterio,” “Cariño Brutal,” “Unshakable,””Langit’,” and other hit songs.
On Thursday (November 26, 2020), Slapshock vocalist Vladimir “Jamir” A. Garcia passed away at the age of 42 after taking his own life. The Quezon City Police District received a report that the singer was found lifeless at his home in Brgy, Sangandaan, Quezon City.

According to the Facebook page Death Threat Production, Jamir Garcia has been rushed to Metronorth Hospital but declared dead-on-arrival by his attending physician Ermin Cabanela.
