Two Alleged NPA Arrested In Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental
HIMAMAYLAN CITY – Two alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were arrested by soldiers in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
The patrolling soldiers of the Philippine Army’s 94th Infantry Battalion (94IB) arrested the insurgents in Sitio Basak, Barangay Buenavista in the city, according to a report from Panay News.
The suspects were identified as Joenefer Hermino and Glenn De Baguio, who are alleged political guide and member of the Central Negros 2 (CN2) Squad 3 of NPA.
The local police reported that the 94IB troops conducted a combat operation in the area when they saw the two carrying firearms.
The suspects tried to escape upon seeing the soldiers, but they were nabbed after a brief chase.
Recovered from the suspect were a hand grenade and two improvised shotguns. They were taken to the local city police for filing of appropriate charges, based on the report.
