GERALD ANDERSON – The Kapamilya actor joined the relief mission of the Philippine Coast Guard for the victims of Typhoon Ulysses.

Recently, another huge challenge crossed the surface – the onslaught of two typhoons, Rolly and Ulysses. Undeniably, the latter is the one that brought severe damage to several areas in the country.

Many areas hit by Ulysses were just recovering from Rolly when the tropical storm brought strong rains that triggered flood. Catanduanes faces rockslide and flooding amid its onslaught.

In Marikina City and Rizal, many residents went to their rooftops to get away from the rising water level amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses. The flood reached even the second floor of some houses.

Many areas in Marikina that were not flooded during past typhoons were reached by flood amid the onslaught of Ulysses. Mayor Marcy Teodoro sought for the help of the national government as the 50 rubber boats of their local government units were not enough to rescue everyone.

A lot of people are in need of help now. Many lost their houses and their source of living to the calamity. Currently, a lot of families are staying in evacuation centers.

The spirit of bayanihan is undeniably alive amid these trying times. A lot of people including some celebrities put up donation drives for the victims of the tropical storms. Many also joined the relief missions to offer their service.

Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson is one of those who joined a relief mission for the typhoon victims. He joined the operation of the Philippine Coast Guard.

Gerald Anderson is an auxiliary officer of the Coast Guard. He has the rank of a lieutenant. On social media, he posted a photo of him sitting beside the PCG’s chopper. Here’s his Instagram post:
