Duterte Conducts Aerial Inspection of Areas Hit By Typhoon Ulysses

Pres. Duterte Go On Aerial Inspection of Ulysses-Hit Areas in PH

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte conducted an aerial inspection of the areas hit by Typhoon Ulysses.

The impact of Typhoon Ulysses in the Philippines went beyond what was expected of it. It left a lot of homes destroyed and many people losing their source of income.

Several regions are greatly affected by the said tropical storm. Another worst thing is that some of these areas were just recovering from Typhoon Rolly when Ulysses entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and brought massive rains.

The water level in the different rivers in the affected areas greatly rose amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses. Several houses were submerged in deep floodwater.

In Catanduanes, Ulysses brought flood and landslide. It is one of the areas that were struck by both Rolly and the recent tropical storm.

Marikina is greatly affected by Typhoon Ulysses as well. Mayor Marcy Teodoro called out to the national government for help as many of his constituents needed to be rescued in their rooftops.

According to Mayor Teodoro, their city has 50 rubber boats but they need aerial rescue as many residents are on their rooftops already following the rise in the water level. Even the areas not usually visited by flood were reached.

Amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Senator Bong Go went on an aerial inspection. They checked the places hit by the tropical storm and the view from above shows massive flooding in Luzon.
