Rabiya Mateo shared her showbiz plans
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo shared that she dreams to enter the world of show business.
It is quite normal in the Philippines that beauty queens are given showbiz projects after their reign. Gloria Diaz, the first-ever Pinay Miss Universe, has become one of the prominent actresses in the Philippines.
This goes also with Margie Moran and Pia Wurtzbach who did TV and movie projects while Catriona Gray is more inclined on music and hosting. Just like other beauty queens, Rabiya Mateo also wants to be in the entertainment industry.
Based on the article from Pang-Masa, the Ilongga beauty queen said that she also dreams to see herself acting in front of camera. However, she shared that she wants to portray kontrabida roles, instead of being the protaganist.
She stressed that she wants to be known for this kind of role as she believes that once she formally enters showbiz, the first roles that will be offered to her is the “bida”.
However, the Ilongga beauty queen said that she is not sure what will be the reaction of her mother to her roles she desires to portray. She also shared that her mother is a big fan of former beauty queen Charlene Gonzalez who also became an actress after her pageant stint.
Meanwhile, Rabiya featured her mother and her grandmother in her appreciation post. She salutes the two single mothers in her life who became inspirations to her.
The Ilongga beauty queen also shared previously that she thinks her father intentionally abandoned them. Despite what happened, she is still hoping to see her father in the future.
