Angel Locsin, Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. Meet To Discuss Red-tagging
ANGEL LOCSIN – Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin has met with Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. over red-tagging issue.
It was last month when Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr. made headline for warning actress Liza Soberano and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray in keeping ties with Gabriela.
Gabriela is a group that pushes for women’s rights in the Philippines. The group is among the organizations that are alleged “communists terrorist fronts.” Parlade also accused Angel Locsin of not revealing her sister Angela ‘Ella’ Colmenares’ alleged links with the NPA.
The military official denied in a Senate hearing that he’s red-tagging the celebrities. On Saturday, November 14, Angel Locsin’s lawyer Atty. Joji Alonzo shared an IG photo of the actress and Parlade together.
She said the prominent actress met with Parlade to discuss the red-tagging issue.
“In a meeting held today between AFP Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. General Antonio Parlade, Jr. and actress Angel Locsin, the issues that cropped up these past weeks including the allegations against her and her sister Angela “Ella” Colmenares, were discussed, threshed out and cleared.”
The lawyer said Angel Locsin “expressly denounces violence and terrorism in any form and supports all efforts of the government to maintain the safety and protection of its citizens.”
In turn, Antonio Parlade Jr. hailed the actress for her contributions to the “AFP and her continuing advocacy to help the poor, impoverished, and the helpless.”
Angel Locsin recently trended online after being fat-shamed in a Department of Education (DepEd) learning module. In a previous article, the agency apologized for the module that went viral.
