Malacañang Palace Says Class & Work Suspension for Friday (November 13)

WALANG PASOK – Malacañang Palace has ordered class and work suspension in Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon.

Typhoon Ulysses severely affects several parts of the Philippines particularly in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon. The powerful typhoon lashes parts of Luzon with heavy rains and violent winds.

Ulysses also causes severe flooding in many areas especially in Marikina City, which leaves the netizens stranded at the roof of their homes.

Work Suspension

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced the suspensions of class in all levels in both public and private schools. The work in all government offices in the following areas have been suspended due to the effects of the Typhoon Ulysses.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommends the class and work suspension as several regions in Luzon were severely affected by the effects of the powerful typhoon.

Work Suspension

Here is the list of areas covered by the suspension of classes and government work:

  • Region 1 (Ilocos Region)
  • Region 2 (Cagayan Valley)
  • Region 3 (Central Luzon)
  • Region IV-A (Calabarzon)
  • Region IV-B (Mimaropa)
  • Region V (Bicol Region)
  • Cordillera Administrative Region
  • National Capital Region
  • Caloocan City
  • Mandaluyong City
  • City of Manila
  • San Juan City
  • Ateneo de Manila University
  • University of the Philippines Diliman

However, government agencies performing disaster response and preparedness, delivery of basic and health services, as well as other important services should continue to report to work.
