Leni Robredo Slams Fake Photo of Their Relief Operation During Ulysses
Vice President Leni Robredo clarified the photo of their relief operation during Typhoon Ulysses circulating online and claimed that it was fake.
The Vice President claimed it “Fake News” after a photo of her with her security personnel amid the relief operation to people during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses was exposed online.
“FAKE NEWS. Please help report,” Robredo wrote on her tweet.
She clarified in her Twitter Friday, the photo circulated online was taken 2 years ago when she visited Agutaya, Northern Palawan, and not this time. She also said they were walking from the boat to the shore as the boat can’t come close.
“This picture was taken 2 years ago when I visited Agutaya, Northern Palawan. Naglakad po kami from the boat to the shore kasi hindi na kayang makalapit nung sinakyan namin. Hindi po ito ngayong bagyo,” she said.
According to Inquirer, the Vice President personally visited families temporarily sheltered at the Kasiglahan Village Elementary School in Rodriguez, Rizal, as low-lying areas in the province were flooded.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte conducted an aerial inspection of the areas hit by Typhoon Ulysses. Several areas of the country were battered by the typhoon, shortly after the onslaught of Typhoon Rolly.
