Rabiya Mateo received advice from Pinay Miss Universe winners
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo reacted to the advice given by Pinay Miss Universe winners Gloria Diaz, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray.
Right after she as declared as the MUP 2020 winner, the beauty queen from Iloilo City received bashing. Many people, and even her fellow candidate, questioned her credibility to win the pageant.
Her crown brought controversy into her once-quiet life as Rabiya shared that she really came from a humble beginning and this was also attested by people who knew her before the pageant.
However, Rabiya Mateo received support from Pinay Miss Universe winners. Pia and Catriona congratulated her. The Ilongga beauty queen shared the conversation she had with them, based on the article from PEP.
“Dahil nga po nakausap ko si Miss Pia and si Catriona, sinasabi nila, ‘Ganoon talaga pag beauty queen ka. People can talk about you and sometimes you can’t do anything about it. You can’t stop it,” she shared.
Rabiya also said stressed that she can also tolerate because even the Miss Universe winners had to undergo this kind of challenge.
In a previous interview, Gloria Diaz also defended the Ilongga beauty queen as she said that the latter deserves the crown. With this, Rabiya also felt ecstatic.
“Sinabi niya talaga, kamukha ko first yung anak niya si Miss Belle. Sabi ko nga, ang sarap naman sa feeling kasi yung mga Miss Universe natin pinagtatanggol ka, parang nasa side mo sila, and parang it gives me the energy to do better kasi,” Rabiya Mateo said.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran showed support to her niece Ysabella Roxas Ysmael.
