The state weather bureau PAGASA warned the residents in several areas near rivers of possible flooding and landslides.
On Thursday (November 12, 2020), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that Typhoon Ulysses affects many parts of the country and even surpasses Ondoy water.
Typhoon Ulysses has maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 255 kph moving 25 kph west-northwestward direction. The typhoon has been last spotted at the vicinity of San Antonio, Nueva Ecija.
The powerful tropical cyclone brings violent winds and torrential rain, which causes severe devastation in some parts of Luzon. The inclement weather condition also causes flooding in Marikina and other areas in Metro Manila.
Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro reported that the Marikina River has already reached 20.9 meters. He also said that water level continues to increase due to the heavy rainfall and covered the houses of the residents.
