Gordon, the chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, cited reports from Red Cross personnel stationed in the area. However, he emphasized that the full extent of the Typhoon’s damage couldn’t be fully assessed as communication lines were damaged.

During an interview with GMA’s Dobol B, he said:

On Sunday morning, Rolly reached super typhoon status. As such, the strongest typhoon of 2020 caused intense rainfall and flooded villages. This resulted to thousands of people evacuating from their homes.

Currently, only satellite phones could be used to communicate to people outside the region due to communication lines being destroyed. Additionally, several missing persons have also been reported.
