MUP National Director Shamcey Supsup’s ‘Probinsyana Story’ Goes Viral On Social Media

SHAMCEY SUPSUP – Miss Universe Philippines national director Shamcey Supsup’s “probinsyana story” went viral on social media.

Filipina beauty queen Shamcey Supsup was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Universe in 2011. She represented the Philippines in the 60th Miss Universe pageant in Brazil. She placed 3rd runner-up.

In 2020, she was appointed by Miss Universe Organization as the national director for MUP. She is joined by big names in the local pageant scene including Albert Andrada, Jonas Gafud, and Lia Ramos among others.

Shamcey Supsup recently opened up about her life growing up in GenSan. Lots of netizens were inspired by her “probinsyana story” which she posted on her Facebook account.

The 34-year-old pageant director recalled how she started from being a probinsyana to achieving her dream of becoming a beauty queen.

Shamcey Supsup shared her mom worked as an OFW. She grows up in a barrio in GenSan with her dad and aunt. She said she used to living with farm animals like chickens, ducks, and carabaos.  

She said she had to transfer to Manila during high school due to the nature of her mother’s job. The Iligan City-born beauty queen admitted that she used to have fears because of her difficulties with speaking Tagalog but she managed to survive life in the city.

Shamcey Supsup made it to her dream school, the University of the Philippines -Diliman. She also gave advice to her fellow probinsyanas. She told them that they should never be afraid to dream big.

Two years after her Miss Universe run, Shamcey Supsup married businessman Lloyd Lee. They now have 2 children named Nathan and Nyle.
