Visitors Troop To Manila North Cemetery Before Closure of All Cemeteries on October 29, 2020

Several residents have trooped to Manila North Cemetery a day before the closure of all cemeteries starting October 29, 2020.

In the Philippines, it has been part of the Filipino culture and tradition to observe All Saints’ Day (November 1) and All Souls Day (November 2). Most people usually visit their departed loved one during those dates.

However, the Philippine government announced the closure of all cemeteries in the country starting October 29 – November 4, 2020. The announcement has been made to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease.

Many people have started to visit the tombs of the deceased loved ones before the scheduled closure.

On Wednesday (October 28, 2020), numerous people have trooped to Manila North Cemetery to visit their departed loved ones. The residents grabbed the opportunity to visit their deceased relatives before the scheduled closure of all cemeteries.

The residents were cleaning the tomb of their departed loves and even offering flowers and candles to them in commemoration of their death. Today is the last day that visitors are allowed to enter the cemetery.
