Police Chief Accidentally Stabbed By Cock-spur in the Leg During Raid

Chief of Police in San Jose, Northern Samar died after he was accidentally stabbed by the sharp cock-spur during their raid in the illegal cockfighting area.

According to the report of DYHB Tatak RMN Page, San Jose Police Station Chief P\Lt. Christian A. Balok is among the group that raided the area in Barangay Mandugang, San Jose, Northern Samar where illegal cockfightings are held.

Northern Samar Police Provincial Office, said while confiscating the seized paraphernalia, Bolok was hit by a cock-spur in the left thigh.

Cock-spur is a sharp claw place in the leg of the fighting cock and often used for cockfights. As a result, it caused serious injury to his femoral artery.

Bolok was taken to the Northern Samar provincial hospital in Catarman but was declared dead on arrival. The raid recovered two chickens and cock-spurs where three people were arrested.

Until now, their Provincial Director, Police Col. Arnel Apud, of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 could not believe the incident. According to him, in 25 years as a policeman, this is his first time only to hear that a man was killed just because of a chicken cock-spur.

Meanwhile, a netizen gives information about his cause of death. According to the netizens, hitting the femoral artery is very dangerous as it is the biggest vein in the leg part, which withdraws more blood when it bleeds.

Therefore, he said the police chief cause of death is the severe loss of blood. He suggests bringing combat application tourniquet in their future raid and if the incident happens again.
