Maribojoc Town Brgy. Captain, 9 More Nabbed Over Illegal Cockfighting
MARIBOJOC TOWN – A barangay captain and nine others were nabbed in Maribojoc town, Bohol over illegal cockfighting.
According to Bohol Chronicles, the policemen nabbed Kalayogan, Loon Barangay Captain Jiovanni Rojas, aged 7, and nine of his companions in a private lot in Barangay Bayacabac.
Maribojoc Police chief Captain Cresente Goria added that several others involed in the said illegal activityh were able to flee.
The said activity was conducted in a secluded and fenced area where no by-passers would not have seen it. However, Goria said that they received a tip regarding the activity, which urged them to conduct the raid.
Authorities have yet to probe further to see who organized the event.
The others who were nabbed were identified as the following:
- Randy Aranzado, 26, of Barangay San Roque, Maribojoc
- Ronnie Bravo, 25, of Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City; Jiovnny Meñoza, 38, of Barangay Bayacabac, Maribojoc
- Richard Bolasco, 41, of Dipatlong, Maribojoc
- Zandro Bantog, 41, of Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City
- Glenn Budlong, 34, of Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City
- Jomil Ocharon, 40, of Barangay Agahay, Maribojoc
- Dindo Liones, 25, of Barangay Agahay, Maribojoc;
- Ariston Asedilla, 60, of Barangay Dipatlong, Maribojoc
Based on the report, Goria did not reveal the owner of the farm, who was not seen by officials but could be among those who evaded arrest.
Most who were involved in the activity did not follow health protocols as none were wearing face masks or any other personal protective equipment.
Based on the report, the arrested remained in police custody on Monday morning.
