The recipient of the cornea of AJ Perez shared this story
The world of showbiz was shocked when news about the death of AJ Perez surfaced but the public was amazed to know that his cornea brought hope to another person.
In 2011, the Philippine entertainment industry mourned the death of AJ who was just 18 years old back then. He died in a car accident that shocked many people, especially his fans.
Although he was a gone for several years now, his memories will still linger in the minds of his loved ones, just like what his brother did during his 9th death anniversary.
Aside from the family of AJ Perez, his friends, and fans, there is someone who will always remember him. Based on the article from GMA Entertainment, the recipient of the late actor’s cornea was one of the guests on Eat Bulaga’s Bawal Judgmental just recently.
John Daniel delos Santos, who is now 17 years old, shared this story. He said that when he was just 1 and a half years old, there was a scar in his eyes but he had no idea what was the cause of that.
“Siguro daw po, alikabok daw po ‘tapos nakusot ko, or baka daw po nakalmot ko ng kuko ko,” the Bawal Judgmental guest shared. He also said that his sight was so blurry because there was something covering his cornea.
His vision was not vivid and it was difficult for him as only an eye was functioning normal. John Daniel even shared that his head was aching every time he tried to read.
When John Daniel was already eight years old, fortunately, he got a cornea donation from AJ Perez. The Eat Bulaga guest expressed his gratitude to the late actor and his family.
“Sa parents po ni Kuya AJ, saka sa kanya po mismo, maraming maraming salamat po kasi napakalaking tulong po sa akin nung cornea niya po,” he said. Habambuhay po na pasasalamat sa kanila po dahil malaking tulong po ito hanggang paglaki ko,” he said.
