Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Top 5 Candidates
MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES 2020- The names of candidates who got included in MUP’s top 5 have finally been announced.
The first edition of the Miss Universe Philippines competition is held at Baguio City Country Club in Baguio City on October 25. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the pageant has been moved twice.
At the end of the event, Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will pass the title to her successor. The crown is called “Filipina.”
In a previous article, the price of the new crown is the most expensive so far. The “Filipina” crown is created by the Villarica family, the owners of Villarica Pawnshop. It has an estimated value of P5 million.
It represents the “achievement of one’s mind over body as a Filipina. It will be a symbol of triumph over one’s journey of trials, hard work, and perseverance in obtaining one’s dream. A dream that has become a reality that would inhabit her mind, heart, and spirit.”

The top five were chosen based on an average of the judges’ scores. They will continue on the question and answer round. The ladies are now one step closer to achieving their goal of winning the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
MUP’s Top 16 were Miss Biliran Skelly Ivy Florida, Miss Albay Paula Madarieta Ortega, Miss Bohol Pauline Amelinckx, Miss Aklan Christelle Abello, Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo, Miss Cebu City Tracy Maureen Perez,
Miss Davao Alaiza Malinao, Miss Cavite Kimberly “Billie” Hakenson, Miss Cebu Province Apriel Smith, Miss Misamis Oriental Caroline Joy Veronilla, Miss Mandaue Lou Dominique Piczon, Miss Taguig Sandra Lemonon, Miss Quezon City Michelle Gumabao, Miss Romblon Maria Fee Tajaran, Miss Pasig Riana Pangindian, Miss Parañaque Maria Ysabella Ysmael. Unfortunately, only five contestants could advance to the next round.
