Mall Sales Are Back After Getting Approval From COVID-19 Task Force

MALL SALES ARE BACK – The Interagency Task For Emerging Infectious Diseases gives the approval to allow mall sales.

According to its spokesman, Harry Roque, malls may hold activities such as sales to boost economic or business activity. However, he emphasized that these events would be subject to DTI guidelines in the operation of shopping malls.

Along with this, Roque said that the IATF also allowed adjustments on the onsite operational capacity of establishments. It could be noted that amid the coronavirus pandemic, several businesses were running at minimal capacity to reduce the spread of the virus.

But, as the number of cases begins to decline, several major areas in the country have lowered quarantine restrictions. As such, the government now plans to gradually revive the economy.

During his public briefing for Laging Handa, the Presidential Spokesperson said:

Inaasahan po natin na magbubukas tayo nang sapat para magkaroon po ng maximum opportunity ang merkado na makabawi

Sana po itong October, November, December we can somehow catch up nang hindi naman po ganoon kalaki ang maging contraction ng ating ekonomiya,

Currently, the Philippines has over 340,000 documented cases of COVID-19. Of that number, over 294,000 have recovered from the deadly virus. Sadly, more than 6,400 have succumbed to the respiratory disease.
