House Committees Got New Officials As Term of Velasco as House Speaker Starts
VELASCO – New officials were elected in the different committees in the House of Representatives as House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco’s term starts.
The speakership issue in the House of Representatives has taken some days and gathered different reaction from the people. Undeniably, it divided the lower chamber as there are those who support either of the two lawmakers, Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco and Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano.
The two congressmen agreed to a term-sharing. The Marinduque Representative is set to start his term as the House Speaker on October 15 but some lawmakers do not agree to changing the house leadership now.
Both lawmakers were insisting that they got the numbers. In a session held at the Celebrity Sports Complex a couple of days ago, the position of the House Speaker was declared vacant.
