‘Gunsmith’ In Miag-Ao, Iloilo Arrested By Policemen
GUNSMITH IN MIAG-AO – A ‘gunsmith’ in Barangay Aguiauan, Miag-ao, Iloilo, was recently arrested by police officers.

A report from Panay News shows that Miag-ao police chief Captain Joevito Bose said that they got information that the suspect, identified as Joemarie Arro, aged 53 years and a construction worker, illegally manufactured guns and accepted gun repair jobs.
Miag-ao police station operatives raided the suspect’s house at around 5:30 AM yesterday. The search warrant was issued by Judge Nelita Jesusa Bacaling of the Regional Trial Court Branch 72.
Retrieved from the suspect were the following:
- improvised 12-gauge shotgun
- five barrel of an improvised 12-gauge shotgun
- eight .38-caliber revolvers
- 12 assorted magazines of short firearms
- 45 live bullets of an M16 armalite rifle
- 74 live bullets of a .9-mm pistol
- assorted tools in gun-making
- an unknown caliber of firearm
Based on the report, Bose reported that Arro was placed under a week of surveillance before the raid and arrest.
Arro had been operating for quite sometime, unbeknownst to his neighborhood. Bose said that they were validating reports that he was a gunsmith and a gun supplier of rebels.
“We are validating reports that he was a gun supplier of rebels,”
