Cebu Capitol Nurses Get Salary Raise
CEBU CAPITOL NURSES GET RAISE – Nurses under the employ of the Cebu Provincial Government are about to receive some good news.
Last Monday, the Provincial Board passes the third and final reading on an ordinance aimed to increase the salary of all nurses. It’s been a long time coming, but finally, nurses are set to receive the extra monetary recognition they deserve, especially amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Once the ordinance has been passed, entry-level nurses who receive Salary Grade 11 (P22,316) would be raised to Salary Grade 15 (P32,053). With this, nurses could get around a P10,000 increase on their salary.
Along with this, the ordinance also aimed to modify the plantilla positions of nurses. According to an article from Cebu Daily News the shifting in position would be:
- Nurses II would be shifted to Nurse I with a Salary Grade 15
- Nurse III shifted to Nurse II with Salary Grade 17
- Nurse IV to Nurse III with Salary Grade 19
- and Nurse V to Nurse IV with Salary Grade 20.
This covers all Nurse positions, employed in the Cebu Provincial Health Office, Cebu Provincial Hospitals and District Hospitals, and Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, the ordinance read.
As per the article, the ordinance was authored by Provincial Board Member Glenn Anthony Soco who wished to emphasize the importance of nurses to deliver the health care needs of the people.
The Province takes responsibility for the protection and improvement of the nursing profession by establishing measures for the betterment of their working conditions, compensation, continuous nursing education, and career development, while they remain in public health care service
